Dear parents and students:
It was a very busy, but successful, week for several of our athletic teams. Tuesday night brought the regional championship games for our high school soccer teams. Fortunately, our boys and girls both prevailed, and the teams advanced to the state tournament next weekend in Beckley. On Wednesday evening, it was another soccer double header, this one featuring our middle school teams. Despite the chilly temperatures, the stands at the new Shawnee Sports Complex were crowded as fans from the other schools (Elkview girls and John Adams boys) and from CCHS gathered to cheer on their teams. The girls were up first and quickly jumped out to the lead. They played hard and capped their undefeated season with a Kanawha County Tournament Championship! Read more...
